Abstract

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic. In Brazil, the first case was registered in February 2020. At the state level, the State Department of Public Health of Rio Grande do Norte issued Technical Note No. 04/2020 with the aim of warning of imminent danger. Measures to deal with the emergency were taken after the publication of State Decree No. 29,513 of March 13, 2020. We worked day-to-day and exhaustively in structuring the services of the healthcare network in the eight health regions. In this perspective, the Technology, Systems, Information and Communication Management Unit (UGTSIC) and the Subcoordination of Information on Labor and Education Management (SIGTE) advised on the development of information systems to meet the State Contingency Plan for Human Infection by the New Coronavirus, which aimed to provide personnel, transparency of information about covid, epidemiological surveillance and hospital bed referral. The development of the online selection system allowed for a greater number of applications, an impersonal selection process, and the evaluation of candidates on a residential basis. In addition, the Portal COVID-19 web site was created with the objective of managing new information and data, organizing tools and demands in one place, which facilitates the access to information for management, scholars and the population. RegulaRN on the other hand, consists of a system dedicated to hospital bed referral for patients with covid-19, since more efficiency, effectiveness and speed is needed in dealing with it.
