Situational Strategic Planning as a management tool in health residency courses: Experience report

Abstract

Introduction: Situational Strategic Planning (SSP) is a tool used for management in several sectors, with good applicability. The Health Residency Programs is an important specialization modality for training in the SUS, for its operation it is necessary to plan that contemplates the resolution of problems that arise in the training process. Objectives: To present an experience report on the use of Planning as a management tool in Health Residency Programs. Methodology: This is a qualitative and exploratory Experience Report of activities called Microintervention, proposed as activities of a Specialization course. The group of five students formed a collective with other representatives of residences to develop some activities based on the PES. Results: The problem listed as being most important for the collective was "Difficulty in integration/communication between services and educational institutions", the critical knots related to this problem were related to the lack of understanding of the management of health services and preceptors about their roles within the Program, in addition to the disarticulation that existed between services and educational institutions. Conclusion: The PES proved to be effective as a method of managing health residencies, as it helped to understand the problems from the point of view of the actors, in a clear and objective way, pointing out the critical knots that can help in the development of the pedagogical processes, decision-making, leadership and management that are necessary.
