First Organ Donation at the Telecila Freitas Fontes Regional Hospital, in Caicó/RN, Brazil

Abstract

This is the report of the first process of diagnosis of Brain Death (BD), followed by the donation of multiple organs for transplantation in Seridó region, in Rio Grande do Norte state, Brazil. This process actively involved the Telecila Freitas Fontes Regional Hospital, the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) and the State Subcoordination of Organ Transplantation (SUETO).
