Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Patient Safety is a widely debated topic by health professionals and authors in the field of health care, in view of the topicality of the topic and its relevance within health environments for a good quality of care. In front of this, the National Patient Safety Program (NPSP) has as one of its strategies the development and implementation of patient safety protocols, guides and manuals. OBJECTIVE: to report the experience of undergraduate Nursing students at the Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN) at the Advanced Campus of Caicó (CaC), in an intervention with professionals from the nursing team at the Hospital Estadual Telecila Freitas Fontes (HETFF), in the city of Caicó/RN, about the Pressure Injury (PPL) prevention protocol, through the Patient Safety extension project of the aforementioned HEI. METHODOLOGY: through the extension project qualification in Patient Safety with Health Professionals, the project members developed a permanent health education action addressing the LPP protocol, the actions were carried out in the sectors of the aforementioned hospital, on the occasion a quizz in which the professionals approached answered the questions asked by the team members and finally there was a discussion about the question. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: the actions carried out are considered successful, for future interventions in the hospital environment, the use of active methodologies should be encouraged and strengthened, they are a facilitating method for the teaching-learning process.
