Abstract
Introduction: In recent years, there has been a great advance in the discussion of fighting and preventing obesity. With regard to the health sector, several recommended actions contribute to the reduction and management of obesity. Objectives: to present an experience report about the Overweight and Obesity Care Line in a municipality in the metropolitan region of Natal-RN. Development: In one of the municipalities in the metropolitan region, there was a team called the Expanded Family Health Center (NASF), which was of great importance for this municipality. However, this team was extinguished in the municipality, leaving many patients without resolution for continuity of the overweight care line. This was composed of several professionals who did a job sharing, with the frequent exchange of information, following these guidelines, the best work strategy was pointed out, following the local reality. Results: As previously mentioned, we found care support in various work formats that could be developed in the community, the obesity group was one, to which patients participated in groups, consultations, nutritionist, psychologists and social worker until they were referred to performing bariatric surgery. However, patients who had already been stratified, followed up and when they were about to undergo surgery, the program was extinguished and all the work done by the team was lost, which led to both the team's demotivation and the non-resolution of the patients' case. Contributions to the population: with the project to Strengthen the lines of care recently implemented in the city, it is hoped that this and the other lines will be operational again and that we will have flows to be able to refer patients and have the resolution of stratified cases, providing the population improvement in quality of life. In addition to minimizing the demands of the services with the aggravated patients and without resolution. We believe that the strengthening of the care network is essential to improve the population-unified health system.
