Abstract

Introduction: Continuing education in health is an essential strategy to transform professional practices and strengthen the integration between teaching and service, especially in the context of multidisciplinary health residencies. This paper aims to report an educational action promoted with multidisciplinary health residents, highlighting their contribution to identifying and overcoming challenges in daily professional life. Method: Report of an experience experienced by a postgraduate specialist in health residency program management with students of a Multidisciplinary Health Residency based on the promotion of an action to survey the challenges identified in the daily work of the residency program in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Results: The action promoted critical reflection on the resident's daily work, identifying the main health needs of the population, territory, concepts of health and disease, bringing with great significance the challenge of mental health care to vulnerable populations and the monitoring of users and families in search of the development of a unique therapeutic project and a comprehensive view of the individual. Conclusion: The implementation of this action allowed the group of residents to reflect on their practice, identifying the challenges that exist and that can be addressed in light of continuing education in health, encouraging reflections on daily practices, overcoming challenges and the exchange of interprofessional experiences, contributing to the qualification of the care provided and the training of residents.
