Abstract
Introduction: This report stems from the Specialization Program in the Management of Health Residency Programs, developed in a public hospital located in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Objective: To describe the experience of designing an intervention aimed at qualifying preceptorship within health education processes, particularly those related to Health Residency Programs. Methodology: Based on a situational analysis informed by previous professional experiences with preceptorship, the study sought to identify key weaknesses in training processes. These insights were further refined following the implementation of five micro-interventions conducted from June to November 2024. Results: The micro-interventions led to the establishment of a Permanent Education Collective, which, through the application of Strategic Situational Planning, enabled the identification of core critical issues related to preceptorship practices. Moreover, strategies were proposed to strengthen the teaching-learning process through Permanent Health Education, fostering collaboration between healthcare services and higher education institutions. Conclusion: The findings highlight relevant aspects of training within Health Residency Programs, with an emphasis on preceptorship, and contribute to a broader discussion on this professional training model and its implications for service delivery within Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS).
