Reflections on Permanent Education in Health

Abstract

This is an opinion article that makes some considerations about Permanent Education in Health and its contributions to changes in practices in the health field. It emphasizes the importance of the National Policy on Permanent Education in Health, its developments and challenges, and the implementation given the current political scenario in Brazil. It emphasizes that PEH reinforces the teaching-learning relationship centered on critical debate and the needs of health services, in a democratic way, as it implies questioning and not establishing ready-made answers. In this way, PEH reinforces the implementation of the Universal Healthcare System, as a public policy and constitutional right, strengthening democratic spaces to improve the quality of health of the Brazilian people.
