Abstract
The study aimed to assess the impact of physical activities within the PAS (Programa Academia da Saúde) on the treatment of anxiety and depression. It is a scoping review following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, with searches conducted in Google Scholar and the Virtual Health Library (VHL), including relevant studies on the impact of PAS physical activities on mental health. Among 980 articles evaluated, six studies were included in the final review. The results indicated that participation in PAS physical activities significantly reduces anxiety and depression levels, as well as improves mood, sleep quality, and overall disposition. Most study participants were female, highlighting the need for strategies to increase male adherence. Additionally, the studies showed improvements in socialization and community support provided by the Program. To maximize the benefits of PAS, its expansion is recommended, along with future research involving larger samples and longitudinal studies to assess the long-term effects of the physical activities offered. These initiatives are essential to consolidate the program's effectiveness and promote mental health comprehensively.
